By Clement Blessigs Kanthiti

As the world celebrates world Labour Day on 1st May this year, a group of young Christian workers (YCW) of the Lilongwe Archdiocese organized a dirty free activity in the city of Lilongwe.

The group decided to clean up the city following development of untidiness in the city so as to give a hand to the City Assembly. The group comprised of members of different districts within the Central Region. On the other hand the organization collected money from well wishers which  the group said will assist in other chores of the group.  The organization was led by its president Belvin Manda.

"I am happy to see the turn up of members of the group to assist the charity work which the organization planned," said Manda. The board of the organization was happy to the City Assembly for allowing them to work on behalf of them.

The charity work was started from Lilongwe main mosque alongside Kamuzu Procession road to Maula Cathedral. The organization was working under the theme "every young worker is worth more than gold in the world. The group provides free services and necessities to government institutions and other non-governmental organizations such as hospitals and orphanages. In an interview with chairperson of Mtima Woyera Section Peter Pemba said the group will continue to work in hand with them and assists the less privileged people. On the other hand the Assembly commended the group for assisting them to make sure that the city is kept clean.
